The UT Extension office will be offering canning classes at the DeKalb County Complex kitchen during the last week of June. Cost per class is $30 and covers all materials and supplies as well as the canning book So Easy to Preserve. The instructor for the classes will be UT Extension Agent Dr. April Martin. Classes will cover canning basics including using a water bath canner and pressure canner. Participants can choose the class they would like. All equipment and supplies will be provided. Participants will take what they make home with them. Each class is $30 and should be paid at least four days before the class. Salsa canning Tuesday, June 26: 9:30 am—12:00 P.M.
Salsa canning Tuesday, June 26: 6:00 – 8:30 P.M.
Pressure Canning Vegetables Thursday, June 28: 9 :00 – 12:00 pm
Jams & Jellies, Thursday, June 28: 6:00 – 8:30 P.M.
A minimum of 4 participants per class is required to hold each class. Payment must be received within 4 business days of the class. Participants are welcome to bring their lunch.
