Liberty Senior Center Invites Seniors to Play Bridge

Spots Remain for Student-led trip to New York

Any Students in Grades 6th through 12th, There are 15 spots left for the student-led trip to New York for June 8th-11th, 2016. The group will be visiting the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State building, 9/11 Memorial, visit the site for Cake Boss television show (and have a cupcake) then finish up with a New York Yankee Baseball game. Fire Season Begins October 15

Tennessee’s fire season begins October 15th and the Tennessee Division of Forestry wants to remind everyone that they must obtain a burning permit before doing any open burning. This allows homeowners to legally burn plant residues grown on the property (such as brush, leaves, and grass) as well as untreated or unpainted lumber. Burning permits can be obtained from the Tennessee Department of Agriculture, Division of Forestry between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday by calling the DeKalb County office of the Division of Forestry at 615-765-7373. In Smithville phone 615-215-3000. Burning permits can be obtained after hours and on weekends by visiting www.burnsafetn.org. Think before you burn.

L.B.J. & C. Head Start is currently accepting applications to provide free comprehensive child development services to children 3-5 years of age from low-income families in a full-day program. Services are also offered to meet the special needs of children with disabilities. L.B.J. & C. Head Start helps all children succeed.

L.B.J. & C. Head Start provides children with activities that help them grow mentally, socially, emotionally, and physically. The L.B.J. & C. Head Start recognizes that, as parents, you are the first and most important teachers of your children. They will welcome your involvement in L.B.J. & C. Head Start activities and will work as partners with you to help your child and family progress. Children who attend L.B.J. & C. Head Start participates in a variety of educational activities, receive free medical and dental care, free healthy meals and snacks, and enjoy playing indoors and outdoors in a safe environment.
