The DCHS chorus will be performing a fall concert on September 30 at the Community Complex, 7:00 pm. There will be a $2 admission fee.

The 9th Annual History Hayride at Edgar Evins State Park will be Saturday, October 11 at 2:00 p.m. Bring your blanket for a hayride back into time as the Friends of Edgar Evins and park staff bring history alive. There will be approximately 10 stops along the route where a cast of colorful characters will reveal the history of the area and its people. Reservations are required and the cost is $15 per person. Listen for WJLE's "Fearless Forecasters" Thursday afternoon's at 4:30 p.m.

This season's regulars are Dewain Hendrixson, Scott Brown, Chad Kirby, Jeff James, Ricky Atnip, John Pryor, Joe Goodwin, Darvin Gill, and Darrell Gill. A different special guest will make an appearance each week.

The "Fearless Forecasters" pick who they believe will win in fifteen of the biggest or most interesting college football games of the week.

They also make an underdog selection each week, picking a team they think will win, even though that team is not favored to win.

The program is sponsored by Liberty State Bank, DTC Communications, DeKalb County Ace Hardware, Middle Tennessee Natural Gas, Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, DeKalb County Insurance, DeKalb Tire and Service, Pizza Hut, and the Charles D. Atnip Realty & Auction Company.

DCHS Tigers at Trousdale County

The DCHS Tigers will travel to Trousdale County on Friday night, October 3 at 7:00 p.m. WJLE will have LIVE coverage on AM 1480/FM 101.7 and LIVE Streaming at www.wjle.com.

Join us for WJLE's Sports Programming lineup Friday night's beginning at 5:00 p.m. with Coach to Coach featuring former Tennessee Football Coach Phillip Fulmer and former UT Assistant Coach Doug Matthews talking Tennessee football followed by Murphy's Matchups at 6:00 p.m. with the Guru of Tennessee High School Football Murphy Fair making his high school predictions with commentary and interviews, and then Tiger Talk at 6:30 p.m. featuring the Voice of the Tigers John Pryor interviewing Tiger Football Coach Steve Trapp and several Tiger Football players. Coach to Coach also repeats on Saturday mornings at 9:00 a.m.

The DeKalb County High School Tiger Football Team will open the new season on Friday, August 22 at home against Warren County.

The first two games will be home. The Tigers will then hit the road for the next five games and then finish up the regular season with three home games.

All games start at 7:00 p.m. The schedule is as follows:

L.B.J. & C. Accepting Applications for Head Start

L.B.J. & C. Head Start is currently accepting applications to provide free comprehensive child development services to children 3-5 years of age from low-income families in a full-day program. Services are also offered to meet the special needs of children with disabilities. L.B.J. & C. Head Start helps all children succeed.

L.B.J. & C. Head Start provides children with activities that help them grow mentally, socially, emotionally, and physically. The L.B.J. & C. Head Start recognizes that, as parents, you are the first and most important teachers of your children. They will welcome your involvement in L.B.J. & C. Head Start activities and will work as partners with you to help your child and family progress. Children who attend L.B.J. & C. Head Start participates in a variety of educational activities, receive free medical and dental care, free healthy meals and snacks, and enjoy playing indoors and outdoors in a safe environment.
