77 year old Delia Frances Bane of Watertown died Thursday at Cedars Health Care Center in Lebanon. She was a DeKalb County native, a homemaker, and a member of the Lower Helton The Baptist Church. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Hunter Funeral Home in Watertown. Mark Miller and Mike Potts will officiate and burial will be in the Jones Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from noon until 8:00 p.m.; Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.; and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until the service. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Daisy Sandlin; her ex-husband, Goble Bane; an infant sister and other sisters, Gertie Irene Tubb, and Minnie Belle Driver. Survivors include nieces, Jerri Reese of Lebanon and Bobbie and husband Talmage Young of Dowelltown. Grand nieces and nephews, Michelle Milbauer, Ashley Harville, Brian, Alex, and Isabelle Harville. Betty Mai Nokes Bogle

85 year old Betty Mai Nokes Bogle of Dowelltown died Thursday at her residence. She was a factory worker and a member of the Immanuel Church of Christ. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Leonard Herman will officiate and burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lemuel Bogle; three grandchildren; parents, Pet and Hallie O'Conner Nokes; and brothers, Walter, Johnny, Sam, Bob, and Bill Nokes. She is survived by her children, Wanda Harrison of Smithville, Thomas and his wife Annie Bogle of Liberty, Brenda and husband Thurman Bennett of Lebanon, Danny and wife Joyce Bogle of Smithville, Marie and husband Kenneth Derting of Liberty, Elsie and husband Ray Fish of Watertown, and Anita Thornton of Smyrna, and Lisa and husband Dwayne Bowen of Smithville. A brother, Floyd Nokes of Smithville. Twelve grandchildren and twenty three great grandchildren survive. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Seven month old Carson Neil Hensley of Rock Island died Wednesday at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was a Baptist. The funeral will be Thursday at 3:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Wendell Judkins and Kenneth Brown will officiate and burial will be in the New Union Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by a brother, Keilin Hensley and his grandfather, John Rankhorn. Survivors include his parents, Marlin and Tamara Hensley of Rock Island. Two sisters, Johnna Hensley and Peyton Hensley of Rock Island. One brother, Elijah Hensley of Rock Island. His maternal Grandmother, Nell Rankhorn of Smithville. Grandparents, Tommy and Peggy Hensley of Sparta, and many aunts and uncles. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

55 year old Mary Jane Bretz of Smithville died Tuesday at NHC of Smithville. She was a nurse and a member of the Church of Christ. The funeral will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Dan Gulley will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Forrest Conger Young and Nettie Alice Young and a sister, Teresa Cowan. Survivors include a son, Daniel Stanley of Smithville. One daughter, Mary Alice Bretz of Hendersonville. One grandson, Caleb Bretz of Hendersonville. Two brothers, James Forrest Young and Richard Young and four sisters, Brenda McBride of Indiana, and Sammy Frazier, Elizabeth Smith, and Sonya Clark all of Smithville. 89 year old James Floyd "Slim" Hale of Alexandria died Saturday at his residence. He was a retired farmer and construction worker and a member of Christ Pentecostal Church in Brush Creek. The funeral will be Tuesday at 11:a.m. at Dekalb Funeral Chapel. Bro. Billy Hale and Bro. Micheal Hale will officiate with burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m.; Monday from 8a.m. until 9 p.m.,and Tuesday from 8 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Minnie Hill Hale; his wife, Evelyn Atnip Hale; one son, Charles Hale. Grandson, Shane Taylor. Three brothers, Cordell, Ed, and Brown Hale. Two sisters, Frances Taylor and Altie Bain. He is survived by two daughters, Donna and husband Richard Summers of Dowelltown, Ann and husband Chuck Greene of Snyder, Texas. Three sons, Robert Carlon Hale and Boyd Hale of Alexandria and Bro. Billy Hale and wife Goldie of Smithville. 63 year old Judy Fay Simmons of Smithville died Thursday of an extended illness at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a Baptist and a retired employee of Smithville Manufacturing (shirt factory). The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel of High Funeral Home in McMinnville. Trent Colwell will officiate and burial will be in the Shellsford Cemetery in Warren County. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. until the service. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Vivian George Thomason; her husband, Claude M. Simmons; two brothers, James and Billy Thomason; and two sisters, Wanda Jenkins and Patsy Thomason. She is survived by five children, Sonya Rene Cantrell, Tarron Lynn Carter, Penny Murphy, and Pamela Ann Curtis all of Smithville and Vickie Kay Cobble of McMinnvillle. Three step-children, Ronnie Lynn Simmons of Nashville, Teresa Walls of McMinnville, and Shounda Williams of Sparta. Nine grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren survive along with four sisters, Louise Jones, Virginia Jones, Betty Certain, and Janice Pollard all of Smithville. Loki Raye Golden, son of Ashley Dawn Golden of Smithville and Samuel Nathan Lee Davis, was stillborn Sunday, June 14th at his residence. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Kenneth Raye Golden and great grandparents, Chuck and Dottie South, and Patricia Ann Rice. In addition to the parents, the child is survived by his grandparents, Belinda Golden of Smithville and Tina and Sammy Davis of Lebanon. An uncle, Christopher Shawn South; aunts, Sara Nicole South and Kara Nicole Schirder; Godparent, Janis Evans; and special friends, Christopher Allen Summers and Donna Faye Summers; and other family members. Noah John Roth, infant son of Caleb Roth and Ashley Underhill of Alexandria, arrived stillborn on Tuesday, June 23 at University Medical Center in Lebanon. A graveside service will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Hillview Cemetery. Jason Groe will officiate. The child was preceded in death by his great grandfather, Ed Roth and great aunt, Dana Roth. In addition to the parents, the child is survived by his grandparents, James Underhill, Lisa and husband Chris Tramel, and John and wife Kela Roth all of Alexandria. Uncles, Nicholas Underhill of Alexandria and Sean Tramel of North Carolina. An aunt, Cassie Roth of Alexandria. Great grandparents, John and Shelvie Jean Underhill and Jerry and Sherry Cripps all of Alexandria, Ron and Nelda McEntyre of Chattanooga, Katie Roth and John and Linda Cannon all of North Carolina. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Dennis Wood and Dwight Knowles will officiate and burial will be in the Young Bend Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from noon until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Elizabeth Young Taylor; four brothers, Greston, Mason, W.B., and Edward Taylor; two sisters, Emmie Knowles and Wilma Poss; and her husband, Homer Luna. Survivors include one son, Jewel and his wife Phyllis Martin of McMinnville. Two daughters, Joannia Thompson and friend Randy Gilley of Dowelltown and Teresa and husband Paul Stringer of Livingston.
