82 year old Rubye Christine Webb of Smithville died Sunday morning at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a member of the Webb's Chapel United Methodist Church, the Women's Methodist Fellowship, and was a bookkeeper for Amonett-Nixon Chevrolet. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Douglas Webb will officiate and burial will follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Webb was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Webb; a grandson, Chris Webb; parents, Arthur and Mae Redmon Judkins; a sister, June Nixon; and brothers, Dean, Len, and Jimmie Judkins. She is survived by two sons, Larry and wife Jackie Webb and Dwayne and wife Modena Webb all of Smithville. Grandchildren, Brad Webb of Smithville, Allison Marcum of Sparta and Lauren Rogers of Smithville. Brothers-in-law, John Robert Nixon of Smithville and Smith Webb of McMinnville. Sisters-in-law, Marie Webb, Geneva Judkins, and Sandra Judkins Widener all of Smithville. Caregiver Tammy Shehane along with several nieces and nephews. 27 year old Tabatha Taylor Young of Smithville died Thursday at DeKalb Community Hospital. The funeral will be Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in DeKalb Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until the service time at 1:30 p.m. She is survived by her husband, James Young; her mother, Sandra Lackey; maternal grandmother, Doris Caldwell; paternal grandmother, Frankie Taylor; and an uncle, Eddie Caldwell all of Smithville. 70 year old Paul Edward Crook of Watertown died Thursday. He was a member of the Snow Hill United Methodist Church, a U.S. Army Veteran, member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion, and he was retired from TRW Ross Gear Division. The funeral will be Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Ricky Scott, Royce Martin, and Doyle Slager will officiate and burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 1:30 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Osie Sandlin Crook; a sister, Kathleen Murphy; brothers, Clayton and Charles Crook; a sister-in-law, Imogene Crook; a brother-in-law, Roy Goodwin; and a great nephew, Wesley Jones. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Gail Harvey Crook of Watertown. Sisters, Jean Goodwin and Bessie Cantrell of Smithville. Sister-in-law, Mary Crook of Liberty. Mother-in-law, Bessie Harvey of Watertown. Nephews, David Crook of Alexandria, Wayne Crook, Jack Cantrell, Harold Murphy, and James Murphy all of Smithville, Gary Crook, Bill Crook, and Ronald Crook of Liberty. Nieces, Teresa Scott and Donna Driver of Alexandria, Tammy Cantrell, Regina Jones, Janice Ramsey, Jackie Bullard, Melissa Reeves, Lori Ann Cleavenger, and Faye Baker of Smithville and faithful companion, Rocky. The family is grateful for the care extended to Mr. Crook during his illness by his friends, Linda and Jerry Stephens, Jimmy Morgan, Odean and Geneva Lawrence, Dr. William Sherwood and the nurses and CNTs of Family Medical Center and DeKalb Community Hospital. Troy Edward "Bodie" Bain

41 year old Troy Edward "Bodie" Bain of Smithville died Tuesday in an automobile accident. A memorial service will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church. The family has chosen cremation. There will be no visitation but the memorial service is open to the public. He is survived by his wife, Jeanna Snow Bain of Smithville. Three daughters, Ashley Knowles of Murfreesboro, and LaTroya Bain and Misty Gingerich of Smithville. Two sons, Troy James "Bodie" Bain and Dalton Dewayne Bain both of Smithville. His father, Troy Bain, Sr. of Smithville. A half sister, Ponzella Redmon of Smithville and half brother, Cecil Judkins of Smithville. Three grandchildren. Three special friends, Ricky Murphy, Dickie Bain, and Jimmy Bain all of Smithville. Two nieces and three nephews also survive. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

64 year old Kenneth Lynn Eastes of Liberty died Wednesday at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. He was a body shop foreman for Kenworth Trucking, a graduate of Watertown High School and the Nashville Auto Diesel College. Eastes was a member of the Church of Christ and the Army National Guard. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Hunter Funeral Home in Watertown. Gwynnath Ford and David Lawson will officiate and burial will be in the Commerce Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and prior to the service on Sunday. He was preceded in death by his parents, John D. and Ernestine Driver Eastes and a sister-in-law, Sue Eastes. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Hunt Eastes of Liberty. Two sons, Kenny and his wife Teresa Eastes and Richard Eastes all of Liberty. Two great granddaughters, Allison and Rebecca Eastes. A brother, Larry and his wife Ann Eastes of Watertown. A niece, Lora and her husband Kenneth Stutts of Watertown. A nephew, Kirk and his wife Bobbie Eastes of Watertown. His mother-in-law, Frances Hunt of Lebanon. 62 year old Betty Jean Bogle died Tuesday night at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a factory worker and attended the Whorton Springs Baptist Church. The funeral will be Thursday at noon at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Michael Hale will officiate. Burial will be in Banks Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at noon. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hardie and Mae Eden Brewer; brothers, Roger Dale Brewer and Michael Ray Brewer; and a sister, Edna Norris. Survivors include children, Roger Stevens of Chattanooga, Samantha Hannah of Ringold, Georgia; Jerry Stanley of Cleveland; and Jeffery Bogle of Smithville. Nine grandchildren. 72 year old Shirley Marie Webb of Livingston died Sunday at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was a retired office manager for Comcast Cable and a member of the West End Church of Christ. The funeral will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Kerry Duke will officiate and burial will be in the Overton County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Alean Overton Costello and a sister, Peggy LaVar. Survivors include her husband, Carl Webb of Livingston. Sons, Terry and wife Lisa Webb of Livingston and C.D. and wife Cindy Webb of Smithville. A daughter, Sherrie Thrasher of Livingston. 57 year old Cynthia Lynn Kousa of Liberty died Monday at her residence in Liberty. She was a monitor technician at Cookeville Regional Hospital. The family has chosen direct cremation. There will be no visitation. She was preceded in death by her father Frank Quick. Survivors include her mother, Helen Quick of West Palm Beach, Florida. A son, Jason and his wife Rebekha Kousa of Arlington, Virginia. A daughter, Cari Kousa of West Palm Beach, Florida. Three grandchildren, Katie, Jacob, and Caleb Kousa all of Virginia. Two sisters, Teri Quick of West Palm Beach, Florida and Nancy Conklin of West Palm Beach, Florida, and a close friend, Grace Ryan of Liberty. 65 year old Roy J. Evans of Lawrenceville, Georgia died Saturday. He was born in Smithville. Evans was a 1963 graduate of DeKalb County High School. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served in Vietnam and Germany, retired from General Motors and was a graduate of Brenau University. After retiring from General Motors he taught school in Walton County for several years. Evans was a long time member of Peachtree Road Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl G. and Era Cantrell Evans and two brothers, Frank A. (Chuck) Evans and Brown A. Evans. He is survived by his wife, Juanita McDaniel Evans of Lawrenceville, Georgia; a daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Jeff Howard of Dacula, Georgia; sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen and Nanci Evans of Loganville, Georgia and Nathan and Stephanie Evans of Loganville; a sister, Joyce Norred of Woodstock, Georgia; brothers, Dennis Evans of Sugar Hill, Georgia, Kenneth Evans of Norcross, Georgia, Dale Evans of Smithville, and Earl Evans of Milner, Georgia; grandchildren, Kyle Evans, Mitchell Howard, Taylor Evans, Lauren Howard and Cade Evans; several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Peachtree Road Baptist Church. Dr. Preston Moore, Reverend Scott Cramer and Dr. Steve Sparks will officiate. 85 year old Mildred Louise Vickers of Smithville died Sunday at NHC Healthcare Center in Smithville. She was a retired DeKalb County school teacher, a Methodist, a member of the Retired Teachers Association and the WAVES as a Navy Reserve in World War II. The funeral will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Virgil Hibdon, Jr. will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Noah David Britton, Sr. and Mabel Blakley Britton; her husband Clarence Vickers; a daughter, Elaine Allen; a grandson, James David Dye; a sister, Bobbye Price; and a brother, Noah Britton, Jr. She is survived by two daughters, Lisa Gilreath of Smithville and Marsha Penrod of Kentucky. One son, Britt Vickers of Smithville. A step- daughter, Susan Slay. Four grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews survive.
