70 year old Joe "Toot" Cantrell of Smithville died Sunday at NHC of Smithville. He was a nurseryman and a Baptist. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Danny Parker will officiate and burial will be in the Young Bend Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest and Mattie Lee Adcock Cantrell; three brothers, Gene, John, and Carl Cantrell; and a sister, Macon Haas. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Johnny Madewell of McMinnville. Two grandchildren and two great grandchildren all of McMinnville. Three sisters, Ernestine Young, Josie Shehane and Katie Cantrell all of Smithville. One brother, Hoyte Cantrell; sister-in-law, Fay Cantrell; and brother-in-law, Eddie Young all of Smithville and a special niece, Melba Vinca of Smithville. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m.

Mrs. Grady Driver Hackett

Mrs. Grady Driver Hackett of Monoville died Tuesday morning at the Lebanon Rehabilitation Center. The body is at the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home where the service will be Friday morning at 11:00 a.m. Edward L. Anderson will officiate and burial will be in Salem Cemetery in Liberty. She is survived by step-sons, Philip Hackett of Carthage and Tommy Hackett of Monoville. One step granddaughter, nieces, and a nephew also survive. Sanderson Funeral Home in Carthage is in charge of the arrangements. The family will receive friends Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the Salem Cemetery Care Fund.

Clara Nell Stoglin

67 year old Clara Nell Stoglin of Sparta died Sunday at Cookeville Regional Hospital. She was a retired machine operator at Georgia Girl and a Baptist. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Garry Farris and David Wilson will officiate and burial will be in the Johnson Chapel Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her parents, Left and Elizabeth Ashburn Jones and a brother, Joe Jones. Survivors include two sisters, Rosell Robinson of Sparta and Oneida and her husband Harold Massa of Sparta. Two brothers, Frank and his wife Joann Jones and Roy and his wife Lou Jones all of Sparta. One niece, Lori Jones of Sparta. One nephew, Steve Jones of Sparta. One great niece, Marley Jones of Sparta. One special friend, Olan Ray Brock of Winchester. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m.

95 year old Mary Emma Carter of Smithville died Wednesday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a homemaker and a member of the Mount Herman Baptist Church. The funeral will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Tommy Taylor will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.; Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.; and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edmon and Martha Thompson Sandlin; her husband Bernice Carter; a daughter, Margie Carter; a grandchild, Denise Whitefield; two sisters, Sarah Bain and Lillie Mae Dutton; and three brothers, Ewin, Clarence, and Junior Sandlin. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Frances and Travis Whitefield of Smithville. One son and daughter-in-law, Eugene and Joy Faye Carter of Smithville. Four grandchildren, Jeffrey Carter and Steven Carter both of Smithville, Sharon Yocum of Sparta, and Serita Bratcher of Morrison. Eight great grandchildren, Jennifer Dunn, Jeff Carter, Jr. and Chance Carter all of Smithville, Jason Bratcher, Daniel Bratcher, and Benjamin Bratcher all of Morrison, and Amy Yocum and Becky Yocum both of Sparta. One great great grandchild, Patryn Carter of Smithville. Two sisters, Ione Miller and Clara Driver both of Smithville. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Robert Stanton Robinson

86 year old Robert Stanton Robinson of Alexandria died Wednesday at DeKalb Community Hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Jason Lohorn and James Daniel will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Burial will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Sango Cemetery in Clarksville. Robinson was a member and deacon of the Upper Helton Baptist Church of Alexandria. He was also a 1940 graduate of Liberty High School; worked for North American Aviation in Los Angeles, California from 1940 until 1942; and he joined the U.S. Army Air Force in 1942 and was discharged from active duty in 1946 as a Master Sergeant. Robinson was also a retired jewelry and a farmer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Baxter Overall and Martha Virginia Roberts Robinson; brothers, Kline, Thurman, Burnard, and Dib Robinson; sisters, Clara Dale Gaither, Willie Mai Williams, and Ruby Robinson; and a son, Larry Neal Robinson. In addition to his wife of 60 years Bernice Neal Robinson, he is survived by a daughter, Peggy Robnson Moore and daughter-in-law, Rhonda Morrison Robinson of Clarksville; grandchildren, Michael and his wife Cheri Moore of Chesapeake, Virginia, James Moore, Wade Robinson, Jerry and his wife Cynthia Robinson, and Wendy Robinson of Clarksville. Great grandchildren, Rachel Moore, Robert Stanton Moore, and Juliana Moore of Chesapeake, Virginia and Diego and Rocky Robinson of Clarksville. 59 year old Larry Eugene Washer of Lower Helton Road, Alexandria died Thursday at his residence. The body is at the Gordonsville Chapel of Bass Funeral Home where the service will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Brush Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Gordonsville Chapel on Saturday from noon until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from noon until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. Washer is survived by his wife, Cindy Skinner Washer of Alexandria. Children, Julie Ann Radar and her husband Bruce of Sykes; Lydia Michelle Foote and her husband James of Sykes; and Alicia Dawn Washer of Alexandria. Grandchildren, Gabriel Lee Radar, Elaina Ruby Foote, and Aidan James Foote. A brother and sister-in-law, Bernie and Carol Washer of Alexandria. Julie Ann Radar's mother, Mary Ann Rose of Sykes. 76 year old Estelle Grider Hutchins of Smithville died Saturday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a retired factory worker and attended the First Baptist Church. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Virgil Hibdon, Jr. will officiate and burial will be in Whorton Springs Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Nancy Thomas Grider; two sons, Phillip and Patrick Hutchins; and two brothers, Everette and Lilbern Grider. Survivors include two daughters, Paula and her husband Bobby Pinegar of Smithville and Pam Davenport of Smithville. Two sons, Paul and his wife Treva Hutchins of McMinnville and Perry Hutchins of Kentucky. Nine grandchildren, Sandy and her husband Darrell Knowles of Smithville, B.J. Pinegar of Smithville, Tony and his wife Shellie Davenport of Kentucky, John Davenport of Smithville, Alon and his wife Cristy Hutchins of McMinnville, Alicia and her husband Robert Garza of McMinnville, Amy Hutchins of California, Angela Hutchins of Nashville,and Dustin Hutchins of Smithville. Six great grandchildren, Breanna and Britney Knowles of Smithville, Cameron and Ty Davenport of Kentucky, and Kolton and Haylee Hutchins of McMinnville. Four brothers, Dillard Grider of Cookeville, Howard Grider of Cookeville, Virgil Grider of Cookeville, and Clarence and his wife Linda Grider of Cookeville. One sister, Billie Palk of Cookeville. 52 year old Joann C. Braswell of Smithville died Sunday at her residence. She was a Baptist and a co-owner of J & J Game Room. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. David Mahan will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.; Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.; and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Caine and Anna Golden Conley; three brothers, Jim, Charles, and Jack Conley; and a sister, Bernice Conley. Survivors include her husband, James Braswell of Smithville. Three daughters, Teresa and her husband Brad Long of Cookeville, Stephanie Braswell of Smithville, and Lisa and her husband Terry Pease of Smithville. Four step-sons, Randy Braswell of Smithville, Johnny and his wife Maria Braswell of Nashville, David and his wife Brenda Braswell of South Carolina, and Jerry and his wife Carolyn Braswell of McMinnville. Thirteen grandchildren, Kayla and Bradley Long of Cookeville, Michael and Kelsey Braswell, Skylar, Tiffany, and Hannah Pease, Jimmy Pirtle, Christopher and Justin Braswell, and Shondra Braswell all of Smithville and Holly and Crystal Braswell of Nashville. One great grandchild also survives. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. The family requests that donations be made to the Hospice Institute of your choice, in lieu of flowers.
