69 year old Amos Hedge of Smithville died Tuesday at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He was a member and an Elder of the Smithville Church of Christ. Hedge was also a U.S. Army Veteran and a retired employee of Kingston Timer. The funeral will be Friday at noon at the Smithville Church of Christ. Tim Woodward and Dan Gulley will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at noon at the church. He was preceded in death by his father, Allen Hedge and a brother Paul Hedge. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Frances Hedge of Smithville. Children, Cheryl and her husband Chris Vance, Angela and her husband Todd Miller, and David and his wife Trina Hedge all of Smithville. Grandchildren, Kelsey and Macy Hedge and Carly and Conner Vance. His mother, Louise Hedge of Smithville and a sister-in-law, Patty Hedge of Hohenwald. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. The family asks that donations be made to the Smithville Church of Christ Playground Fund, in lieu of flowers.
