92 year old Eldred Lawrence Fish of Smithville died Monday at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was a member of the Smithville Church of God and he served as Mayor of Dowelltown from 1976 until 1989. He was also retired from the Tennessee Department of Transportation. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Donnie Kelly and Jeff Armstrong will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m. Fish was preceded in death by his parents, George and Ina Payne Fish; a brother, Will Fish; a sister-in-law, Louye Self; and a brother-in-law, Auburn Nixon. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Bobbye Nixon Fish of Smithville. One son, Greg and wife Sissy Fish of Dowelltown. Two daughters, Brenda and husband John Inglis and Linda and husband Jimmy Keith all of Smithville. Five grandchildren, Tia Inglis, Brandon Keith, Andrew and wife Andria Keith, and Nicholas Keith all of Smithville and Dalton Fish of Dowelltown. Four great grandchildren, Jordan Reeder, Dillan Reeder, Braden Givens, and Hannah Keith all of Smithville. Two sisters-in-law, Bobbye Ruth Fish and Helen Nixon both of Smithville. One brother-in-law, J.C. Self of Goodlettsville. Several nieces and nephews also survive and caregivers Becky Gesegnet, Elaine Cowart, Leslie Emme, and Tia Inglis. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. In addition to flowers, donations may be made to the Smithville Church of God Building Fund.
