78 year old James "Duber" Miller of Dowelltown died Tuesday at DeKalb Community Hospital. He formerly served as a member of the DeKalb County School Board for sixteen years and was a former maintenance employee for the DeKalb County School System. Miller was a member of the United Methodist Church. The funeral will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Matt Long and Wilson Williams will officiate and burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from noon until 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m. Miller was preceded in death by his parents, James Claud and Lula Ferrell Miller; a son, David Miller; two sisters, Mildred Reneau and Margie Washer; and three brothers, Tom Miller, Oliver Miller, and Aubrey Miller. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Naomi Miller of Dowelltown. One son, Nathan and wife Sandra Miller of Sparta. Three granddaughters, Elizabeth Miller, Olivia Miller, and Alexandria Miller. One grandson, Cody Ellis. One sister, Dorothy Vanatta of Smithville. One sister-in-law, Ammie Miller of Smithville. Several nieces and nephews including very special nephew, Dean Adcock. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. In addition to flowers, donations may be made to Salem Cemetery.
