James Lannis Hays

71 year old James Lannis Hays of Statesville died Wednesday morning at the Lebanon Health and Rehab Center. Born in Cannon County, he was the son of the late Ernest Alfred Hays and Lula Clayborn Hays. Jimmy attended Watertown High School and was a member of Prosperity Baptist Church. He was a boiler maker and member of Local 363 in Illinois. Jimmy was a Past Master and 50 year member of Comer Lodge No. 417 F&AM. He is survived by his wife, Carol McColpin Hays of Statesville; son, James Lee Hays and wife, Janet of Statesville; daughter, Janice Lanee Williamson of Statesville; grandchildren, Casey Elizabeth Hays, Lindsey and Logan Williamson; step children, Karen Bell of Flora, IL, Kim (Sandy) Bell and Max (Sandy) Bell both of Bridgeport, IL; step grandchildren, Michael (Samantha) Cooper, Rachel (Perry) Boles, Chris (Rhonda) Cooper, Dalton, Kendra and Cassidy Shadle; sister, Sherry Parkerson of Smithville; brother, Jackson (Kathy) Hays of Auburntown; nieces and nephews. A memorial service and celebration of Jimmy's life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Hunter Funeral Home in Watertown. Visitation with the family will be from 1 p.m. till service time on Sunday.
