James William "Jim Bear" Knowles

57 year old James William "Jim Bear" Knowles of Smithville died at his residence on Saturday surrounded by his son and several friends. He was born August 16, 1956 in DeKalb County. Bear was a retired salesman of his family business Knowles & Sons Nursery and a real estate agent with Luna Reality both in Smithville, TN. He attended Allens Chapel United Methodist Church and was a member of Mt. View Primitive Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents Lewis and Irene Frazier Knowles, 1 Brother: Steven Frazier Knowles and Sister-in-law Tammy Cook Knowles. Funeral services will be held 2:PM on Tuesday February 11, 2014 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bros. Phil Tollett and Lynn Russell officiating, Eulogy by Jim Judkins and burial in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be on Monday 12:PM until 9:PM and Tuesday 9:AM until time of the service at 2:PM. He is survived by his son Dustin Knowles of Smithville; 1 Granddaughter: Victoria Knowles of Murfreesboro; 2 Brothers: Larry (Melissa) Knowles of Murfreesboro and Kenneth Knowles of Smithville; 1 Sister: Linda Sue Knowles of Smithville; Sister-in-law: Laurie Knowles of Murfreesboro; 3 Aunts: Macon Judkins of Smithville, Grace Frazier Whittington of Purlear, North Carolina, Sherry Frazier Fisher of Brebard, North Carolina; 2 Nephews, several nieces, cousins and a host of friends. In Lieu of flowers family has asked that donations be made to Relay for Life, Alive Hospice and the Kidney Foundation in memory of Jim "Bear" Knowles. DeKalb Funeral Chapel in Smithville is in charge of the arrangements.
