80 year old Thomas Rice of McMinnville died Monday at his residence. He was a member of the Keltonburg Missionary Baptist Church and a retired employee of the Midwest Chrome Process Company. The funeral will be Friday at 3:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Jefferson Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 3:00 p.m. Rice was preceded in death by his parents, Jasper and Mitilda Smith Rice; his second wife, Nan Rice; a brother, William A. Rice; and a nephew, Brian Cole. Three half-siblings, Easter Mooneyham, Greenie Mayne, and Thomas Keen. Survivors include two half sisters, Eva Mitchell of Barbourville, Kentucky and Viola Gray of Corbin, Kentucky. One nephew, Lash and wife Kathy Rice of Smithville. Six nieces, Michelle and husband Carl Washer of Smithville, Terrie Ford of Smithville, Brenda and husband Carl George of McMinnville, Charlene Neidig of Knoxville, Vivian Dishman, and Thelma Rutledge both of McMinnville. Two step children, Gina Pleasant and Ricky Northcutt both of McMinnville. Three step grandchildren, Tierra Batey, Preston, and Logan Pleasant.
