55 year old Ricky James Stewart of Smithville passed away Wednesday at his residence. He was a Baptist and mechanic and owner of Rick's Automotive. The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Nathan Thomason will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-8 p.m.; Friday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.; and Saturday from 9 a.m. until the service at 11 a.m. Rick was a dedicated family man. He was forever in love with his wife. His boys were the highlight of his days. He loved being able to guide them in their adventures and teaching them new things. He was looking forward to spending time with his grandchildren. He loved his customers and would always make sure they were taken care of. He was a devoted friend to many. He was preceded in death by his parents, James T. and Mary Sellars Stewart. Survivors include his wife of 29 years Gail Stewart of Smithville. Two sons, Colt and Lacey Stewart and Hunter and Jessica Stewart of Smithville. Two grandchildren, Syrus and Evie Stewart of Smithville and a sister, Patty Hunter of Cookeville. Several good friends also survive. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Donations may be made to St. Jude.
