All-District 7-AA Teams announced

The All-District 7-AA teams were announced on Tuesday, at the annual year-end coaches' meeting in Cookeville.

Upperman's LaShay Davis and Livingston Academy's Chase Dunn were named the District's Most Valuable Player's for the 2008-09 season. Both seniors, Davis is a Western Kentucky signee, while Dunn will play college basketball next season at Tennessee Tech.

Meanwhile, Livingston Academy's Lesley Smith and Upperman's Dana McWilliams each shared the girls' District 7-AA Coach of the Year honor, while Bobby McWilliams of Upperman was named the boys' District Coach of the Year.

Other District 7-AA grls' awards were as follows:

Most Improved Player: Kayla Biles, Upperman

Freshman of the Year: Calamity Jane Coley, Macon County

Defensive Player of the Year: Kayci Ferris, Smith County

First Team All-District : Kayci Ferris, Smith County; Rachel Brown, York Institute; Kendria Kilgore, Livingston Academy; Molly Eacret, York Institute; Jennifer Maynard, Upperman; Karissa Dyer, Upperman; Emily Sissom, Cannon County.

Second Team All-District: Mackenzie Sells, Livingston Academy; Calamity Jane Coley, Macon County; Alissa Sells, Livingston Academy; Kayla Biles, Upperman; Caroline Owen, Smith County

Third Team All-District: Alyson Roberts, Upperman; Lauren Ruehlen, Cannon County; Chelsea Carr, Livingston Academy; Adrian West, Livingston Academy; Whitney Peavyhouse, York Institute
