Bees Sting Tigers 14-3 in Smithville

The DeKalb County Tigers suffered their first loss of the season Wednesday evening falling to the Upperman Bees 14 to 3 in a district showdown at Smithville.

The Tigers scored two runs in the fourth inning and one run in the sixth inning. The Bees scored two runs in the first inning, six runs in the fourth inning, and six runs in the sixth inning.

Cody Puckett, the losing pitcher, gave up eight runs on six hits through three and a third innings. He struck out two and walked three. Chase Hoke came in for two innings and gave up three runs on two hits. He struck out two. John Roller pitched for two thirds of an inning and gave up three runs on three hits. He walked one.

Seth Stanley, one hit.

The Tigers will be in Baxter today (Thursday) for a rematch with the Bees at 5:00 p.m.
