The games were played as part of the Hall of Fame Classic games, which are games that can either count as regular season games or pre-season games. Coaches have the option whether or not to count the games on their win-loss record.

Van Buren led 20-13 at the end of the opening period, and 36-30 at the half. DeKalb County could draw no closer than six points in the second half, as the Eagles answered every run with a big basket or free throws. The Tigers trailed 54-44 going into the fourth, before both teams tallied 25 points apiece in the final period.
Zach Rowland led the Tigers with 16 points, while Travis Woodward added 13.
