The DCHS basketball teams lost to the visiting Livingston Academy Wildcats and Lady Cats Tuesday night in Smithville.
The Lady Tigers were edged out 32 to 30 while the Tigers fell 78 to 73 in overtime.
In the girls game, DC led 10 to 4 after the 1st period and 16 to 13 at halftime. The game was tied at 21 by the end of the 3rd period but Livingston Academy outscored the Lady Tigers 11 to 9 in the 4th period and won 32 to 30.
Joni Robinson scored 10. Emme Colwell 8. Mya Ruch 6 and Madison Parsley and Mallori Hart each scored 3.
In the boy’s game, the Tigers led 24 to 20 after the 1st period, 35 to 28 at halftime, and 52 to 49 after the 3rd period. But the Wildcats outscored the Tigers 19 to 16 in the 4th period to tie the game at 68 by the end of regulation and send it to overtime. In the overtime session, Livingston Academy outgunned the Tigers 10 to 5 and won 78 to 73.
Tanner Poss scored 28 points. Nathan Atkins 18. Marshal Evins 11. Trey Jones 9, Colter Norris 4 and Austin Johnson with 3.
DeKalb County will travel to Bledsoe County Thursday night, December 14. Action begins with the girls contest starting at 5:30 p.m. followed by the boy’s game. WJLE plans LIVE coverage.
