The DeKalb County Tigers and Lady Tigers lost to the Cannon County Lions and Lionettes Friday night in Smithville.
The Lady Tigers were beaten 98 to 68 while the Tigers fell to their border rivals 73 to 49.
In the girls game, DeKalb County trailed 25 to 15 after the first period, 43 to 36 at halftime, and 66 to 52 after the third period before losing 98 to 68.
Loren Cripps scored 20 for the Lady Tigers. Paige Winningham 17. McKenzie Poteete 15. Morgan Pedigo 6. Ashli Chew and Jailyn Bolding each scored 5 points.
For the boys, DeKalb County trailed 16 to 9 after the first period, 39 to 18 at halftime, and 56 to 29 after the third period before falling 73 to 49.
Ethan Roller scored 23 for the Tigers. Aaron Patterson 7. Austin Frazier and Justin Bone each with 6. Steven Jennings and Kalab Ferrell each with 3 points and Noah Parsley had 2.
DeKalb County travels to Chattanooga today (Saturday) to take on the Patriots starting with the girls game at 3:00 p.m. Smithville time.
