Trey Finley hurled five innings of no-hit ball, and led the DeKalb County Tiger baseball team to a 12-0 shut out of visiting Trousdale County, Monday afternoon.
Finley struck out 12 hitters, walked two and hit a batter, allowing only three runners to reach base. The Tigers put up five runs in the bottom of the first inning to give their senior lefty a lead to work with, then added six more runs in the bottom of the second. The Tigers capped off the rout with a run in the bottom of the third. The game was called in the bottom of the fifth due to the ten-run rule.
At the plate for DeKalb County, Colt Stewart smacked his fourth home run of the season and had three RBI. Zack Rowland had two singles and three RBI. Tyler Kent and Bray Page each had a double and an RBI. Joseph Bowen had a single and an RBI. Destry Wiggins ripped two singles, John Malone belted a double, Tyler Caldwell and Dylan Roller each had a single, while Corey Atnip tallied one RBI.
The Tigers improve to 13-5 on the season, and will play in the Sequatchie Valley Clash Classic, this Friday and Saturday, in Dunlap.
