The DeKalb County Lady Tigers knocked off the Warren County Lady Pioneers Tuesday night in McMinnville 55 to 50 but the Tigers fell in overtime 66 to 53.
In the girls game DC trailed 13 to 11 after the first period but outscored the Lady Pioneers 15 to 13 in the second quarter to tie the game at 26 all by half time. Warren County was back on top 37 to 33 after the third quarter, outscoring DC 11 to 7. The Lady Tigers pulled ahead in the fourth quarter, outscoring Warren County 22 to 13 to get the 55 to 50 win.
Chelsea Lewis led the Lady Tigers in scoring with 17 points followed by Alex Meadows with 12, Loren Cripps 9, Abbey Caldwell 8, Danielle Tyson 5, Lydia Foutch 2, and Ray Baker 2.
For the boys, the Tigers jumped out to a 17 to 6 lead in the first period and held a 27 to 20 advantage by halftime, though they were outscored in the second period 14 to 10. The Pioneers drew closer in the third period, outscoring the Tigers 13 to 10 and trailed 37 to 33. Warren County got even closer in the fourth period, outgunning DC 13 to 9 and the game was tied at 46 by the end of regulation. In fact, the Pioneers were leading late but the Tigers hit a three pointer to send the game to overtime. But in the extra session, Warren County outpaced the Tigers 20 to 7 and won the game 66 to 53.
Stephen Howell had 25 points for the Tigers. Eli Lomas scored 7, Sonni Young 6, Andrew Atnip 6, Braxton Howell 4, Braxton Atnip 3, and Zach Vincent and Ethan Roller each with 1 point.
