The Purple Pride Caravan will make a stop in Smithville on Tuesday afternoon (Aug. 9), the second stop during a series of events around the region in anticipation of Tennessee Tech's upcoming fall sports seasons.
The Purple Pride Caravan is open to the public and will feature a tailgating atmosphere with coaches, cheerleaders and Tech mascot Awesome Eagle. One lucky fan will win a trip for two with the Golden Eagles to the season opener at Iowa on Sept. 3.
The Purple Pride Caravan event will begin at 5 p.m. and running until 6:30 p.m.
The Purple Pride Caravan in Smithville will take place at the Potter's Home Center, located at 615 East Broad.
Fans who stop by will be treated to hot dogs and Pepsi soft drinks, pick up schedule cards and posters, and register to win prizes including season tickets to watch the Golden Eagles in 2011.
Following its stop in Smithville Tuesday, the Purple Pride Caravan will also visit Monterey, McMinnville, Gainesboro and Sparta, before it wraps up in Cookeville on Aug. 30, just a week before the home opener in Tucker Stadium.
