The DeKalb County Tigerettes shutout York Institute 15 to 0 in the first round of the District Softball Tournament Thursday at Upperman High School in Baxter.
DC scored six runs in the first inning, six runs in the second inning, and three runs in the third inning.
The Tigerettes scored fifteen runs on fourteen hits and made no errors. York Institute was held scoreless on four hits and made no errors.
Lauren Colwell was the winning pitcher.
Tyra Graham had two singles. Danielle Tyson had a single. Chelsey Brannon had a single. Lauren Colwell had two singles. Dani Meadows had two singles. Shauna Taylor with a single and a double. Loren Cripps had a single. Katie Hall had two doubles and Kayley Caplinger with one double.
The Tigerettes advance in the tournament and will play again tonight (Friday) at 6:30 p.m. against either Cannon County or Livingston Academy. The game will be played at Baxter.
