The DCHS Tigerettes will advance in the District 8AA Softball Tournament after defeating Cannon County 15 to 3 Sunday in Baxter.
DeKalb County scored 15 runs on 10 hits and made 3 errors. Cannon County scored 3 runs on 5 hits and made 2 errors.
The Tigerettes scored 6 runs in the 1st inning, 1 run in the 2nd, 3rd, and 5th innings and 6 runs in the 6th inning. Cannon County scored 3 runs in the 3rd inning.
Kayley Caplinger had a double and single. Maddison Parsley had a double. Allison Maynard had two doubles and a single. Joni Robinson doubled and Lexie Bates, Abbi Taylor, and Hanah Panter each with a single.
Emme Colwell was the winning pitcher.
The Tigerettes will take on Murfreesboro Central Magnet today (Monday) at 6:30 p.m. at Upperman High School in Baxter. Central Magnet defeated Upperman Sunday night 10 to 0 to advance in the tournament.
