The DeKalb County Tigerettes have advanced to the Championship game of the District Softball Tournament at Baxter after defeating Upperman 8 to 1 Monday.
DC scored eight runs on nine hits and made two errors. Upperman scored one run on two hits and made one error.
The Tigerettes scored one run in the fourth inning, two runs in the fifth, and five runs in the sixth inning. The Lady Bees scored their only run in the sixth inning.
Kayley Caplinger, the winning pitcher, struck out eleven.
Tyra Graham had a single. Danielle Tyson had two singles. Dani Meadows had a single and a triple. Lauren Colwell had two singles. Katie Hall had a triple and Chelsey Brannon got a homerun.
The Tigerettes will play tonight (Tuesday, May 6) at 6:30 p.m. in the Championship Game. A second and deciding game will be played if necessary at 8:15 p.m. at Upperman High School.
