Tigerettes blank Warren Co., 5-0

The DeKalb County High School Tigerette fast-pitch softball team shut out the visiting Warren County Lady Pioneers, 5-0, Monday evening in Smithville.

The Tigerettes scored two runs in the bottom of the third inning off a two-run double by Morgan Page, which scored Alex Meadows and Cynthia Woodward, with two outs on the board. DC added three more runs in the fourth, as Woodward, Kristian Puckett and Kara Young all had RBI base hits.

Morgan Page scattered six hits through seven shutout innings and struck out seven to earn the pitching win.

Woodward had a single and two doubles to lead the Tigerettes' nine-hit attack. Puckett added two singles, Page and Jaylen Garrett each tallied a double, while Young and Victoria Bennett each added a single.

The Tigerettes are now 8-3 on the season, and is scheduled to host Livingston Academy, Thursday afternoon, at 5:00 p.m. WJLE plans live coverage.
