Tigerettes blank Watertown, 7-0

The DeKalb County High School Tigerette fast-pitch softball team shut out visiting Watertown, 7-0, Monday afternoon.

Josie Culwell pitched seven innings of shutout ball for the Tigerettes. The freshman allowed three hits, struck out seven, walked one and hit a batter.

DeKalb County struck with two runs in the bottom of the third inning, added three more in the fifth and posted two more runs in the sixth inning. The Tigerettes committed one error in the game.

At the plate, Jaylen Garrett had two singles, a double and three RBI. Victoria Bennett had two singles and two RBI. Sarah West and Josie Culwell each had a single and an RBI. Morgan Page had two singles. Kristina Stephens had a double, while Cynthia Woodward had one single.

The Tigerettes improve to 21-8 on the season, and will host Smith County, Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. in the regular season finale.
