Tigerettes Go 4-2 in Gibbs Tournament

The DCHS Tigerettes defeated Knox Central, Anderson County, and Mount Juliet before losing to Hardin Valley in the Gibbs Softball Tournament Saturday. The Tigerettes played two games in the tournament Friday losing to Gibbs 5 to 1 and defeating Powell 4 to 3.

On Saturday, the Tigerettes defeated Knox Central 12 to 1. DeKalb County scored 12 runs on 8 hits and made no errors. Knox Central scored 1 run on 2 hits and made 4 errors. The Tigerettes scored 5 runs in the 1st inning, 6 runs in the 2nd inning, and 1 run in the 3rd inning. Knox Central scored 1 run in the 1st inning. Kristina Bain had 2 singles, Allison Maynard, Kenzie France, and Joni Robinson each singled. Emme Colwell and Hanah Panter doubled and Kayley Caplinger had a homerun. Emme Colwell was the winning pitcher.

In the next game, the Tigerettes beat Anderson County 2 to 1. DeKalb County scored 2 runs on 4 hits and made 3 errors. Anderson County scored 1 run on 2 hits and made 1 error. The Tigerettes scored 1 run in the 2nd inning and 1 run in the 6th inning. Anderson County scored 1 run in the 1st inning. Allison Maynard, Joni Robinson, and Emme Colwell singled and Kenzie France had a double. Kayley Caplinger was the winning pitcher with 8 strikeouts.

The Tigerettes then defeated Mount Juliet 3 to 0. DeKalb County scored 3 runs on 7 hits and made no errors. Mount Juliet was held scoreless on 2 hits and made 1 error. The Tigerettes scored all 3 runs in the 4th inning. Lexie Bates, Kenzie France, Joni Robinson, and Kristina Bain each had a single and Emme Colwell had 2 singles. Kayley Caplinger doubled. Kayley Caplinger was also the winning pitcher.

DeKalb County then lost to Hardin Valley 4 to 3. Hardin Valley scored 4 runs on 5 hits and made 1 error. DeKalb County scored 3 runs on 5 hits and made 3 errors. The Tigerettes scored 2 runs in the 1st inning and 1 run in the 4th inning. Hardin Valley scored 3 runs in the 1st inning and 1 run in the 4th inning. Lexie Bates, Kayley Caplinger, Joni Robinson, and Emme Colwell singled. Kayley Caplinger tripled. Emme Colwell was the losing pitcher.
