Tigerettes Shutout York Institute Twice

The DCHS Tigerettes shutout York Institute in both games of a double header Tuesday in Smithville winning 11 to 0 and
14 to 0.

In the first game, the Tigerettes scored 11 runs on 12 hits and made no errors. York Institute was held scoreless and hitless and had no errors.

DeKalb County scored 7 runs in the 1st inning and 4 runs in the 4th inning.

Kayley Caplinger, the winning pitcher, struck out 8.

Kenzie France had a homerun. Joni Robinson and Kelly Roberts each had a triple. Joni Robinson, Lexie Bates, Myranda Bailiff, and Allison Maynard each had a double, and Lexie Bates, Kayley Caplinger, Kristina Bain, Kelly Roberts, and Maddison Parsley each had a single.

In the second game, the Tigerettes scored 14 runs on 14 hits and made no errors. York Institute was held scoreless on one hit and made two errors.

Emme Colwell was the winning pitcher.

DeKalb County scored 2 runs in the 1st inning, 9 runs in the 2nd inning, 2 runs in the 3rd, and 1 run in the 4th inning.

Kayley Caplinger and Allison Maynard each had a homerun. Myranda Bailiff, Kenzie France, and Allison Maynard each doubled. Lexie Bates and Maddison Parsley each had 2 singles, and Kenzie France, Emme Colwell, Madison Whitehead, Hanah Panter, and Allison Maynard singled.
