The DeKalb County Tigerettes defeated the Upperman Lady Bees in a double header Thursday at Baxter 9 to 5 and 9 to 2.
In the first game, the Tigerettes scored nine runs on eight hits and made two errors.
DeKalb County scored one run in the first inning, six runs in the third, one run in the fourth, and one in the fifth.
Kayla Self, the winning pitcher, gave up five runs on nine hits through five innings. She walked three and struck out three.
Cynthia Woodward had three singles, Victoria Bennett had a double, and Alex Meadows, Jaylen Garrett, Kristina Stephens, and Kristian Puckett each had a single.
The Tigerettes won the second game with nine runs on eleven hits and three errors.
DeKalb scored one run in the first inning, one in the second, four runs in the third, and three runs in the fourth inning.
Kaya Self notched another win in the pitcher's circle. She gave up two runs on four hits. She struck out four and walked two.
Victoria Bennett had a single and a double, Alex Meadows tripled, Jaylen Garrett had two singles, Brooke Hutchings and Kaya Self each had a single, Kristian Puckett tripled, and Kristina Stephens had a single and two doubles.
The Tigerettes are 22-6 overall and 10-1 in the district. They will play host to Smith County Tuesday, April 28th at 4:30 p.m.
