The DCHS Tigers enjoyed a 31 point win over the visiting Trousdale County Yellow Jackets Friday afternoon but the Lady Tigers lost a fourth quarter lead and fell 53 to 48 to the Lady Jackets in Smithville. The final in the boys game was 73 to 42.
For the girls, Trousdale County led 14 to 9 after the 1st period but the Lady Tigers grabbed a 24 to 19 halftime advantage and led 37 to 29 by the end of the 3rd period. But Trousdale County outscored DC 24 to 11 in the 4th period and came from behind to beat the Lady Tigers 53 to 48.
Lydia Brown scored 15 for DeKalb County. Joni Robinson had 12. Emme Colwell 11. Megan Walker 9 and Kenzie France with 1.
The Tigers led 17 to 7 after the 1st period, 32 to 14 at halftime, and 51 to 31 after the 3rd period before going on to win 73 to 42.
Austin Johnson and Tanner Poss each scored 14 for the Tigers. Trey Jones and Nathan Atkins each with 11. Dallas Cook 9. Colter Norris 7. Marshal Evins 4. Isaac Walker 2 and Luke Jenkins with 1.
DeKalb County will have a re-match with Trousdale County on Thursday, January 4 at Hartsville and then host White County on Friday, January 5th starting both nights with the girls games at 6 p.m. WJLE plans LIVE coverage.
