Tigers Sweep Dragons

The DeKalb County Tigers swept York Institute on Tuesday afternoon in Smithville. In its first district matchup of the season the Tiger’s bats did the work. DeKalb County scored ten runs in all, and run ruled York in 5 innings. The final score was 10 to 0.

The winning pitcher for DeKalb County was Steven Page, who through 5 innings of work threw for 69 pitches, with 47 of those being strikes. Page went on to give up 5 hits and had 6 strikeouts. Hitting for DeKalb County:

The second game for DeKalb County was just as good defensively, but the bats went cold. Steven Jennings was the only DeKalb Tiger to score and it was off his solo homerun. However, the story of the night goes to Senior Pitcher, Devin Summers, the winning pitcher on the night. He recorded 7 innings of work with 98 pitches, 66 of those being strikes. Summers also had 13 strikeouts only giving up 3 hits. DeKalb County won 1 to 0.
