After trailing the Grundy County Yellow Jackets into the 4th quarter, the DeKalb County Tigers came from behind to tie and then go on to win 25-22 with a game ending field goal Friday night at Coalmont.
Ole Miss Head coach Matt Insell, in a prepared news release, has announced the addition of Joe Pat Cope to the women’s basketball coaching staff as a video coordinator. Cope comes to Oxford from Murfreesboro, Tennessee where he served as an assistant coach for the Riverdale women’s varsity team.
The DeKalb County Tigerette Softball Camp will be held at the Danny Bond Field at 1130 West Broad Street, Smithville on October 11-13 for girls ages 6 to 17. The cost is $50. The camp will feature quality instruction from college and high school coaches and demonstrations from college and high school players. Players will be grouped by age and ability. Contests, t-shirts, and more!
DeKalb County High School Golfer Isaac Walker competed in the TSSAA Class A-AA Golf Tournament on Tuesday and Wednesday at Willowbrook Golf Club in Manchester.
The Sequatchie County Indians spoiled Homecoming for the DeKalb County Tigers with a 20-3 win Friday night in Smithville.
The Tigers drop to 4-3 on the season and 2-1 in the Region. The Indians, ranked second in the state in Class 3A, remain undefeated at 6-0 and 3-0 in Region play.
Each team punted three times in a scoreless 1st period.
DeKalb County was well represented at the Macon Country Cross Country meet on Tuesday, Sept. 27th.
Personal records for the two mile course were set by all members of the boys and girls middle school teams.
The DeKalb Middle School Cross Country Team is making it's mark! In one of the most competitive middle school meets of the season DMS cross country placed 5th out of a field of 13 teams at the Milton Invitational on Sept. 10th. Trophies were awarded to the top 5 teams of the race. The first 30 runners to cross the finish received medals.
The Macon County Tigers won the catfight over the visiting DeKalb County Tigers Friday night at Lafayette. The final score was 41-20.
DeKalb County drops to 4-2 on the season. As this was not a region matchup the Tigers’ Region mark remains at 2-0.
The DCHS Tiger Golf team finished 4th in the Region 4A AA Golf Tournament at Fall Creek Falls State Park on Thursday with a score of 353.
Individually Isaac Walker earned a 2nd place finish in the Region and a berth in the State Tournament at Willowbrook in Manchester October 3-5.
The DeKalb County Tigers are hoping to get their fourth straight victory and the fifth of the season Friday night as they travel to Lafayette to face the Macon County Tigers.
