Florence & White Ford and the Ford Motor Company are offering DCHS Football the opportunity to raise thousands of dollars with their annual test drive program on Friday, August 5 prior to a scrimmage game against Friendship Christian. Tiger football fans can earn money for the DCHS football program by simply test-driving a new Ford at the school.
Danny Fish has been named the new DCHS girls softball coach.
Fish, who has served as an assistant to former head coach Danny Bond for the last four years, will be moving from Northside Elementary School, where he taught physical education to DCHS where he will also be a P.E. teacher.
The DeKalb County High School Golf Team will be having tryouts on Monday, July 11, at the Smithville Golf Course at 1:00 p.m. Anyone interested in
trying out is welcome to come. The golf team will also be hosting the DCHS Golf Team Fund Raiser 4-Person Scramble at Riverwatch Golf Course on
37 year old Brian Shelton was the overall winner of the 18th annual fiddler 5K and One-Mile Fun Run Saturday and he set a new course record at 16:12.
Meanwhile Kristen VanVranken won the race among females. She ran the course in 20:23

DeKalb County native Darvin Gill has been named the head basketball coach of the girls program at Rhea County High School located near Dayton Tennessee at Evansville.
Although he will remain employed by the school system in a new position this fall, longtime educator Danny Bond has announced his retirement as the DCHS Tigerette Softball Coach, a position he has held for 31 years since the program began in 1985. His successor has not yet been named.
Two DCHS Tigerettes, who graduated last month, put pen to paper Monday signing to play for the Roane State Community College Raiders softball team next spring.
Tigerette catcher Dani Meadow and center fielder Hannah Walker were joined by their parents, fellow high school players, and coaches for the signing at DCHS. Jessica Hackworth, Assistant Softball Coach represented Roane State.
The DCHS Tiger Football program will have two new assistant coaches on the sidelines this fall helping head Coach Steve Trapp.
Thomas Cagle and Brad Trapp will be joining the staff.
DeKalb County High School has a new baseball coach.
Jon Adam Kefauver of Crossville has been named to replace former coach Tracy Slone. He comes to DeKalb County after serving three years as head baseball coach and as a Wellness and Physical Education teacher at Stone Memorial High School in Crossville.
The new DCHS Golf Coach is John Pryor while Seth Willoughby is taking over coaching duties for the Tennis program. Both positions were formerly held by Joe Pat Cope.
