The DCHS Lady Tigers got back in the win column while the Tigers notched their second victory in a row Tuesday night at Smith County.
The Lady Tigers got by the Owlettes 67 to 62 in overtime and the Tigers claimed a 78 to 52 win over the Owls.
In the girls game, DeKalb County led 13 to 12 after the 1st period and 30 to 21 at halftime. The Lady Tigers fell behind 37 to 36 at the end of the 3rd period and the game was tied at 53 by the end of regulation. DC outscored Smith County 14 to 9 in overtime for the 67 to 62 victory.
In the boys game, the Tigers trailed 10 to 9 after the 1st period but led 35 to 21 at halftime and 53 to 33 after the 3rd period before winning 78 to 22.
Nathan Atkins scored 19, Tanner Poss 16, Hayden Thomas 12, Dakota White 11, Dallas Cook 5, Lucas Hale and Luke Jenkins each with 4, Noah Martin, Evan Jones, and Brayden Antoniak each with 2 and Jordan Young with 1.
The Lady Tigers improve to 13-6 and 5-2 in the district. The Tigers improve to 3-16 and 2-5 in district play.
