The DeKalb County Tigers blew past the visiting Cannon County Lions 81 to 52 Friday night in Smithville but the Lady Tigers lost to their neighbors 61 to 47.
For the girls, DC trailed 14 to 3 after the 1st period, 32 to 17 at halftime, and 48 to 29 after the 3rd period before losing 61 to 47.
Emme Colwell and Lydia Brown each scored 13. Mya Ruch 6, Joni Robinson 5, Kenzie France 4, and Madison Parsley, Mallori Hart, and Megan Walker each with 2 points.
In the boys game the Tigers led 14 to 12 after the 1st period, 36 to 21 at halftime, and 58 to 38 after the 3rd period and then went on to win 81 to 52.
Marshal Evins scored 18. Tanner Poss 14, Nathan Atkins 13, Colter Norris 11, Trey Jones 10, Brayden Howard 5, Dallas Cook 4, Josh Carlton 3 and Austin Johnson with 3 points.
DeKalb County travels to Livingston Academy, January 30. Action begins with the girls game at 6 p.m. WJLE plans LIVE coverage.
