72 year old JoAnn Pittman of Smithville passed away Friday at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was a member of the New Home Missionary Baptist Church and was retired from the DeKalb County Board of Education. The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bobby Hale will officiate and burial will be in the Keith Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 2-8 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. until the service at 1 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe and Lillie Mae White Ervin; brothers, Mack Ervin, R.J. Ervin, Alvie Ervin, Red Ervin, Marlon Ervin, and W.B. Cantrell; sisters, Betty Wilson, Ruby Conway, and special companion Charles Ayers. Survivors include a daughter, Angie and William Meadows of Smithville. Grandchildren, Stephanie and Billy Tiner of Smithville, Brandon Rackley and companion Kim Wyatt of Smithville. Great granddaughter, Sophia Ann Tiner of Smithville. Sister-in-law, Rebecca Ervin of Smithville. Nephews, Ralph and June Vaughn of Murfreesboro, Douglas and Barbara Ann Ervin of Smithville, and Randy Conway. Nieces, Kimberly and Mark Violet of Smithville, Tracy and Jay Thibodeaux and Carol Landolt all of Texas. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked donations be made to the New Home Missionary Baptist Vision Fund.
