The DCHS Lady Tigers enjoyed a 61 to 49 win over visiting Livingston Academy Tuesday night in Smithville but the Tigers suffered a crushing 80 to 78 overtime lost to the Wildcats.
The Lady Tigers improve to 15-6 overall and 7-2 in the district which the Tigers drop to 3-18 on the season and 2-7 in district play.
In the girls game, DC led 19 to 12 after the 1st period, 33 to 26 at halftime, and 44 to 31 after the 3rd period before winning 61 to 49.
Lydia Brown scored 19, Kadee Ferrell 15, Mya Ruch 9, Emme Colwell 8, Joni Robinson and Kenzie France each with 4 and Maddison Parsley with 2.
In the previous meeting in December, the Lady Tigers defeated Livingston Academy 48 to 33.
Meanwhile in the boys game DeKalb County led 17 to 12 after the 1st period, 34 to 32 at halftime, and 56 to 52 after the 3rd period. The score was tied at 74 by the end of regulation. In the overtime, the Wildcats outscored the Tigers 6 to 4 and won 80 to 78.
Tanner Poss scored 23, Nathan Atkins scored 20, Dallas Cook 14, Dakota White 13, and Colter Norris with 8.
In the December meeting the Tigers lost 83 to 56 at Livingston Academy.
