“I have watched two films on them and they are good but I think we will be able to do some things against them that maybe some other teams haven’t. I don’t think they are as athletic as we are so we are wanting to play a 90 feet game. I think they are used to playing a half court game. In one film I watched a team pressure them a lot and they had a little trouble with it and on the other film I watched the team didn’t pressure them any and they (Marshall County) made them pay in the half court game. We will be a little undersized but I expect us to come out and play our game. We’re going to stick to what we do well,” said Lady Tiger Coach Danny Fish.

The community is urged to turn out in large numbers in support of the Lady Tigers today. DeKalb County Schools are closed and so are some businesses for the event.

DCHS held a pep rally Tuesday afternoon  in the gym for the entire student body which had a game like feel with the DCHS pep band, cheerleaders, and the players running through the Tiger after being introduced by public address announcer Chris Vance.  Students also got to hear a recording of WJLE’s exciting  play bv play announcer John Pryor during the closing seconds of the LIVE broadcast  Saturday as DeKalb defeated McMinn Central 44 to 42 in the sub-state.

Not since 1965 has a DeKalb County High School girls team made it to the state tournament. That team finished fourth. In 1959, DeKalb County’s girls team got to the state tournament championship game before losing to Porter 47 to 46.
