Drug Defendants Sentenced in Criminal Court

Several people arrested in undercover drug investigations by the sheriff’s department last year were sentenced Monday in criminal court.

Judge Gary McKenzie presided.

41 year old Jessica Renee Owen entered a plea to sale of a schedule II drug (Oxycodone) and received a 5 year sentence on TDOC probation. She must pay a $2,000 fine and make restitution of $160 to the sheriff’s department.

22 year old Jacob Fisher Murphy entered a plea to sale of over 0.5 grams of methamphetamine and received an 8 year sentence on TDOC probation except for 180 days in the county jail. He was fined $2,000 and must make $200 restitution to the sheriff’s department. Murphy was given 20 days jail credit. The term is to run concurrently with his probation in another felony case.

19 year old Robert Stephen Derrick entered a plea to two counts of casual exchange and received a sentence of 11 months and 29 days in each case to run consecutively but he will be on probation subject to judicial diversion. He must make $620 restitution to the sheriff’s department.

42 year old Dana Michelle Taylor entered a plea to sale of a schedule III drug (buprenorphine) and received a 4 year sentence on TDOC probation. She was fined $2,000 and must make $325 restitution to the sheriff’s department.

38 year old Jayme Denise Hendrixson entered a plea to sale of a schedule II drug (methamphetamine over 0.5 grams) and received 8 years on TDOC probation after serving 180 days in the county jail. She was fined $2,000. The term is to run concurrently with another case against her. She was given jail credit of 69 days.
