A Benefit Dessert Auction for Phillip and Clara Wilkey will be Saturday, September 28 starting at 6 p.m. at the DeKalb County Complex at 712 South Congress Boulevard, Smithville sponsored by the Smithville-DeKalb County Rescue Squad.
This benefit is to help with expenses incurred during recent hospital stays and continuing treatment.
“Phillip has been employed with the City of Smithville for over 30 years and he’s been with the Rescue Squad for several years as well. He’s the type to be the first to help but he’s the absolute last person to ask for help. They have tremendous medical bills and we are trying to help them out,” said a spokesperson.
