The D.C.H.S. Fighting Tiger band received a superior rating at the Middle Tennessee Small Band Championship at Forest High School on Saturday (Oct. 12). Out of the 10 bands present at the competition in Chapel Hill, DeKalb scored 5th overall.
“They were the best scoring Division II band at the contest,” says Director Tracy Luna. “The percussion and color guard received excellent ratings and showed great improvement from their past performance at the Yellow Jacket Invitational.”
Drum Major Breanna Beatty received a very high score on the day with a 92, also a superior rating. The band travels to their next and final competitive performance on October 26 to The Foothills Classic in Seymour, Tennessee.
