SFC Tyler Durden age 37 of Ft. Campbell and a former resident of Smithville, passed away Thursday night at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He was born August 26, 1982 in Camp Pendleton, CA. He was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Emma Durden and grandmother, Christine Matthews. Tyler was a Sergeant First Class in the U.S. Army, affiliated with the Church of Christ and a Free Mason. He leaves to cherish his memory, 1 daughter, Madison Grace Ann Durden of Bradenton, FL; mother, Debbie Fisher of Liberty; sister, Jessica (Shannon) Anderson of Smithville; nieces and nephews, Mykenzie, Kayden, Leah and Kyler Anderson; grandparents, James (Darlene) Matthews of Gassaway; several aunts, uncles and cousins; special friend, Lori Truax; long-time father figure, Thomas “Ed” Nokes of Lebanon. Funeral services will be 1 P.M. Friday, November 8, 2019 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. BJ Thomason and Sgt. Danny Neal officiating and burial with full military honors will be in DeKalb Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday 10:AM until 8 P.M. and Friday 10:AM until the time of the service at 1 P.M. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
