Edward Frazier age 94 of Smithville, went home to be with the Lord very peacefully Friday morning, April 3, 2020 at his residence. Edward was born March 13, 1926 to his parents, the late Robert Lee and Hassie Pearl Hubbard Frazier. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 son, Edward Frazier, Jr.; step-grandson, Troy Hinton; sister, Ruby Smithson and brother, James Frazier. Edward was a member of the Dry Creek Baptist Church, Former Smithville Mayor and Councilman, member of the American Legion Post 122, member of the Nurseryman’s Association for many years, owner of Frazier Brothers Nursery and he was involved in many civic organizations through the years. He is survived by his wife, Frances Frazier of Smithville; daughter, Susan (Jerry) Hinton of Smithville; grandson, Rance (Annette) Kelly, Jr. of Huntsville, AL; great-grandchildren, Katelyn and Caroline Kelly; 1 step-grandson, David (Crystal) Hinton of Prattville, AL; 3 step-great-grandchildren, William, Michael and Wyatt Hinton; twin brother, Edsel Frazier of Smithville and several nieces, nephews and cousins. As much as Mr. Edward was in the public and loved people, Due to the COVID-19 Coronavirus and the Governor’s Executive order of 10 people or less for public gatherings, there can only be a private family Graveside Service held at DeKalb Memorial Gardens with Bro. Donald Owens officiating and Military Honors conducted by the Veterans Honor Guard. In addition to flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Gideon’s International, Dry Creek Baptist Church or Smithville First Baptist Church in memory of Edward.
