The DeKalb Emergency Services Association (DESA) and volunteers will again be preparing and delivering Thanksgiving meals to the needy and underserved on Thursday, November 25th.
“We feel that this is just another way our local emergency service providers and our supporters can serve our community. If you or a family member would like a hot meal on Thanksgiving Day, please call one of our numbers listed to be added to the list. We need the address, phone number, and number of persons in your household,” said Association Spokesperson Blake Cantrell.
“We will meet at the county complex on Thanksgiving morning to cook, prepare, pack, and deliver meals to anyone who requests one in the DeKalb County area. Each plate lunch will consist of baked ham, mashed potatoes, green beans, roll, and a dessert.
DESA will accept names of persons requesting a meal through Monday, November 22. To get your name on the list call or text 615-390-0297, 615-712-4286, or 615-390-0189. Volunteers may call or text if you wish to help prepare or deliver the meals.
Monetary donations may be made at Wilson Bank & Trust or to any DESA member. Call 615-390-0189 for Venmo.
