Larry Green has formally announced his candidacy for the county commission, 5th district in the May 3 DeKalb County Republican Primary.
“My name is Larry Green, and I am a candidate for County Commissioner in the fifth district Republican primary on May 3rd. My wife Natalie and I have been married for 50 years and have two children and six grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Natalie was a teacher in the DeKalb County school system and both our children attended DeKalb County schools”.
“I am a veteran of the United States Air Force and a graduate of Tennessee Tech. I have worked in manufacturing as a Production Controller and Purchasing Manager. I spent 26 years with Denny Lamp Corporation as Sales Manager. I left that position to accept a call to Ministry. I was Pastor of Smithville Cumberland Presbyterian Church for 6 years and then retired to fill in at small congregations. I am currently serving the Liberty CP Church in McMinnville as their Interim Pastor”.
“I am past president of the Smithville Jaycees. I also worked with t-ball, Little League baseball, and Junior pro football. I am a current board member of Habitat for Humanity and a past president of that organization”.
“DeKalb County has been our home for over 40 years and now I would like the opportunity to put my experience to work to make DeKalb County a better place for all of us to live. I have a proven record of being able to work with a variety of people and if the voters of the fifth district will vote for me, I will do my best to serve all the people,” said Green
