City of Smithville Mayor Josh Miller joined Mike Davidson, CEO, and Jen Sherwood, Safety & Training Coordinator, of Middle Tennessee Natural Gas Utility District to issue a proclamation that April is Safe Digging Month.
All residents are reminded that before you begin outdoor projects such as home improvements, landscaping and gardening; please call 811 or submit an e-ticket at www.tn811.com. Wait until the site has been marked with paint or flags before starting your project. This 3-day period allows MTNG and all the other utilities to locate buried pipes and other underground facilities BEFORE you start digging, staking or excavating. It’s a free service…and is very important in helping you to dig safely.
