Mr. J L “Bud” Mahler, age 87, of Smithville, TN passed away Sunday morning, April 24, 2022 at Ascension St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital.
Mr. Mahler was born on August 12, 1934 in Sparta, TN to his parents, the late Walter and Bertha Maynard Mahler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Mahler; a brother Hubert Mahler; and a sister, Willie Austin. Bud worked for Oster as a mechanic before retiring, and he attended Pomeroy Chapel Brethren-Christ church. Mr. Mahler served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at 11am at Peeled Chestnut Cemetery.
Survivors include 1 son and daughter-in-law, Rick (Ava) Mahler of Smithville; 1 grandson, Ricky (Joey) Mahler of Smithville; several nieces, nephews & cousins also survive.
