The Board of Education will have one new member beginning next month.
Eric Ervin, a Republican, will succeed Kate Miller on the school board from the 4th district. Miller chose not to seek re-election. Ervin won the seat in the DeKalb County General Election Thursday beating two other opponents, Dr. Scott Little, a Democrat, and Independent Tony Poss. Ervin got 324 votes compared to 230 for Little and 148 for Poss.
Meanwhile Seventh district member Shaun Tubbs, an Independent defeated Republican Ryan Mollinet 323 to 205.
The other three incumbents up for re-election were unopposed including 1st district member Danny Parkerson, who received 441 votes; Republican Alan Hayes in the 2nd district with 513 votes; and 3rd district Republican Jim Beshearse with 525 votes.
The terms of office are for four years and begin September 1.
