Donna “Faye” Green Cantrell age 83 of Smithville passed away Saturday afternoon, September 3, 2022 at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital ER after spending time with her family at the Green Family Reunion. Faye was born June 16, 1939 to her parents, the late John Dowie and Mettie Emma Neely Green. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lellon Cantrell; sisters, Elsie Steinbach and Christine Adcock; 2 brothers, Kenneth Green and Thomas Green. She was a faithful member of the Keltonburg Church of Christ. Faye worked at Smithville and Campaign Shirt Factories and then worked at Genesco/Texas Boot, where she retired. She leaves to cherish her memory, 3 children, Thomas Levoy (Devita) Cantrell of McMinnville, Dianna Cantrell (Harvey) Whitehead of Knoxville and Steven James Cantrell of Smithville; 4 grandchildren, Nathan Cantrell of Utah, Mandy Weiler of Knoxville, Justin Cantrell and Leslie Cantrell both of McMinnville; 7 great-grandchildren, Aiden Cantrell, Emery Cantrell, Chase Weiler, Audrey Weiler, Breylee Butcher, Everleigh Butcher and Sawyer King; 4 brothers, James (Ginny) Green of Columbia, John (Judy) Green of Walling, Eddie (Carol) Green of and Jack Green both of Smithville; 2 sisters, Sara Green Adcock of Murfreesboro and Joyce Green (Chester) Carman of Louisville, KY; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be 1 PM Thursday, September 8, 2022, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Bobby Cloyd officiating and burial will follow in Corinth Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday 4 PM until 7 PM and Thursday 11:AM until the time of the service at 1 PM. In addition to flowers, the family asks that donations be made to either Wounded Warriors or St. Jude Children’s Hospital, in memory of Ms. Faye. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
