Mr. Kenneth Douglas Young, age 63, of Smithville passed away Saturday, April 1, 2023, at St. Thomas West in Nashville. He was a farmer and a member of New Home Missionary Baptist Church.
Mr. Young was born on May 15, 1959 to his parents, Johnny and Leathy Lawrence Young, who preceded him in death. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Dennis Young and Alfred Young; sisters, Geraldine Fish, Joyce Johnson, Ollie Frances, and Billie Sturgis; brother-in-law, Johnny Johnson; 3 nephews, Gary, Allen, and Dustin. .
The family has honored Mr. Young’s wishes of cremation. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 22 from 1-3pm at New Home Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lucy Young; daughter, Marcie Alsobrooks; sisters, Faye Atkins, Christeen Arnold, Janie (Doug) Cook, Doranda (Gary) Davis; sister-in-law, Jean Young; special nephews, Nelson Davis and Jason Young; nephew, Derrick Cook; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
