Ellen Geraldine Walls Clayton (September 03,1945-April 02, 2023)

Ellen Geraldine Walls Clayton was born on September 03, 1945 to her parents the late Roy V. Walls and Nannie L. Adcock Walls, she was one of 15 children. Ellen joined our father in heaven on April 02, 2023.

Ellen is survived by her loving husband, Bro. Kenneth Clayton.

Ellen met Kenneth one week and married him the next. It was truly love at first sight.
Ellen married Kenneth Lester Clayton on February 17, 1962, and they enjoyed 61 years of marriage. Ellen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Ellen provided nothing but unconditional love and unwavering support for her family.

You would be hard pressed to find a more charming, funny, and sharp witted woman than Ellen Geraldine Clayton. Ellen competed in Senior Miss America Pageants which introduced her to the Cameo Jewels. She performed with the Cameo Jewels and sang her favorite song ‘The Rose’ by Bette Midler. Ellen was a master in the kitchen, and she measured solely with her heart. She made a chocolate pie that would make Gordon Ramsey blush.

Ellen took great pride in her work as a receptionist at Middle Tennessee Radiology for 20 years.

Ellen was a member of Snow Hill United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, Ellen was preceded in death by 8 brothers and sisters; Janie Woodley, Tommy Walls, Clarence Walls, Gene Walls, James Howell Walls, Anne Farless, Thelma Webb, and Phillip Walls.

Ellen is survived by six children, sixteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, six brothers and sisters , and numerous nieces and nephews.

Children: Edie Brown, Ronda Butler, Kenneth Clayton Jr. , Daniel Clayton all of Smithville, and Lynn Green, Craig Clayton of Columbus, Georgia.

Grandchildren: Ashley Hawkins, Jason Brown, Stephenee Clayton, Leslie Watson, Madison Butler, Paxton Butler, Jesse Smith, Crystal Kiefer, Lindsey Brown, Ken Clayton, Kayla Clayton, Amanda Jones, Skylar Moore, Cash Clayton, Mason Clayton, and Josh Certain.

Great grandchildren: Ryleigh , Sarah , Susan-Grace Hawkins, Casey and August Butler , Brynlee Watson, Corie Rae Smith, Caroline and Abby Mae Kiefer, Cadence and Hazel Brown, Trinity and Josh Certain, Levi and Chloe Jones , and Blakely Marshall.

Brothers and sisters: Rita Walls, Kathy Scott, Verna Green, Dan Walls, Bobby Walls all of Smithville, and Wanda Hollis of McMinnville.

Ellen was loved and adored by her family.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday April 5, 2023 at 1:00PM with Bro. Perry Clayton and Family officiating at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in Snow Hill United Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday April 4, 2023 at 2:00PM till 7:00PM and on Wednesday April 5, 2023 at 10:00AM until the time of the service at 1:00PM. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
